JE-ISAC Cyber Security Exercise

On Jan 28, 2021, We held the "JE-ISAC Cyber Exercise".

This event was held online to check incident responses for Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics under COVID-19 spreading.

About 160 participants in this event from 29 companies including major electric power companies, J-Power, JERA, new entrants etc.

Four scenarios prepared, each company selected one of them. In one of scenarios, a natural disaster occurred during the Olympics, causing a power outage. Using shared information from JE-ISAC, participants can discover that power outage was caused not only by natural disaster, but also by a malware infection.

The exercise was conducted without disclosing the details of scenarios to the participants. Each company grasped the damage and recovered it, and also reported to METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and TOCOG (the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games).

In addition to this exercise, with the establishment of a 365d 24h contact network, we will prepare for cyber attacks targeting the Olympics.
